Pyroplex Special Intumescent Extrusions are designed to meet the demands of door, window and other building applications. They are individually designed and tested to meet the required standard for individual application. Designs for special applications can be undertaken and fire ratings from 30 minutes to 2 hours are achievable.


Special extrusions are generally supplied in a continuous coil to minimise wastage and are quick and easy to fit as no special tools are required. They can be supplied with an acrylic self adhesive tape backing or interference fit to make application as easy as possible.

Field of Application
Pyroplex special intumescent extrusions will have been designed for a particular use but are often used in the following applications:
• Surface of metal door leaf or frame.
• Rebates in timber door leaf or frame.
• Gap between window glass and bead.

Product Features
• Bubble/Flipper designs can provide reduced smoke penetration and excellent acoustic performance.
• Interference fit or self adhesive tape backing options available.
• Supplied in a continuous coil - minimum wastage.
• Fire ratings from 30 minutes to 120 minutes achievable.
• Designs for special applications undertaken.
• Pyroplex intumescent material is a high-pressure, multi directional forming material.
• Intumescent material is totally unaffected by water, robust, ‘non-flaking’ and difficult to tear.

  Product Testing
The Pyroplex range of Fire Door Seals have been extensively tested in the UK, Europe and worldwide, to national and international standards. Each Pyroplex product will be tested to required standard for each individual application.

Installation Instructions
These will vary according to design and application.Where applicable, to achieve excellent adhesion seals must be applied
to clean, dry surfaces at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C.
