Product Testing Pyroplex has a wealth of testing data to support its product range. Working with organisations such as Warringtonfire and BM Trada, Pyroplex has invested heavily in testing, both in the UK, Europe and worldwide. Consequently, Pyroplex holds a number of accreditations which include CERTIFIRE, Warnock Hersey and IFC. Penetration sealing systems, including pipe collars, wraps and fires resistant mastics have numerous international accreditations.
Pyroplex has its own fire furnace which is used to develop future products. The furnace is also used on a regular basis for assessing product compliance against general standards. Materials The Pyroplex material is a unique, patented formulation (patent number 2.298.159), which unlike other intumescents, is totally unaffected by environmental conditions such as exposure to water. Futhermore, no additional treatments or capping materials are required to protect the active elements of the product. Pyroplex intumescent material expands to many times it original volume. During the expansion stage, the carbon elements are fused thus creating significant amounts of pressure and volume expansion. This expansion is multidirectional and is therefore ideal as a gap sealing solution. Pyroplex operates a rigorous functional inspection regime on all expanded materials to ensure that the product is fit for its intended purpose as a fire resilient material.
