Fire Stopping

Fire stopping is a form of passive fire protection that is used to seal around openings and between joints in a fire-resistance-rated wall or floor assembly.

Compartmentation involves sub-dividing a building into smaller sections to limit the spread of fire. It also contains the fire at its origin and protects escape routes. Pyroplex manufacture fire stopping products that address any openings in walls or floors, such as doors, glazing, service penetrations and ductwork. This prevents both fire and smoke from passing through any sub-divisions in buildings. For example, intumescent fire collars and fire wraps may be used to protect certain types of service penetrations.
