Pyroplex® Putty Pads are pre-cut ablative pads which have been specifically designed to reinstate the fire performance of the compartment wall when penetrated by electrical sockets, thereby reducing the need for additional backing materials. Putty Pads provide a fast, efficient and clean method of achieving the required fire and acoustic ratings as required by Building Regulations Approved Documents.

To achieve a high quality seal, ensure the socket is clean and free from any dirt, dust and that it is dry. Remove the protective film liner from putty pad. Make a slit in the pad which will enable the cable to be passed through. Press the pad firmly into the socket recess ensuring full contact is made to all sides. Make sure the pad is not damaged or punctured during this process. Remove the remaining film liners and trim off any excess material to leave a neat finish.

To achieve a high quality seal, ensure the socket is clean and free from any dirt, dust and that it is dry. Remove the protective film liner from putty pad. Mould the component around the extremities of the box to make an effective seal, trimming any excess of material.
The product has been tested in accordance with BS EN 1364-1, BS EN 1636-1 and the general requirements of BS EN1363-1, achieving up to 120minutes fire resistance. Test report is available upon request.
Providing the product is installed in accordance with the requirements of guidance document the product is guaranteed for a period of 10 years.
