Pyroplex are pleased to announce our Technical Manager Andy Walsh has been awarded the FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme) Diploma in Fire doors and is now entitled to use the designation DipFD. This defined industry standard demonstrates Andy’s in-depth awareness of the role of fire doors, further acknowledging his extensive and valuable industry knowledge.

The FDIS scheme is Europe’s first fire door inspection scheme. Through the implementation of this scheme in the marketplace it will:

  • Help improve safety and save lives through creating a pool of expertise and competence to help those with legal responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (RRO).
  • Provide a new support mechanism for the Responsible Person (as defined under the RRO) to complete assessments for the premises they manage.
  • Raise awareness of defective fire doors and the potentially tragic consequences of leaving these unchecked.
